EXPIRED

We organise an annual A & P Show that introduces an Urban Lifestyle to Rural Lifestyle Opportunity.

We are described as running a Heritage Event and every attempt is made to continue including traditional events/activities. We now include mainly lifestyle farm animals as the Tauranga Regions growth has reduced the number of commercial farms/orchards that we had been known for in the past so we don't have large numbers of dairy cows, beef stock and sheep around that we did previously.

Our 2026 show will be the 142nd show that Tauranga A&P will have successfully completed. As a Committee, we are still trying to find our feet in regards to developing a successful recipe, where both urban and rural communities will accept our own Tauranga version of an A&P Show. I believe we are on our way, with our 2025 show having a large number of mixed cultures attending and enjoying the experiences they were offered.

Our show is held in the Oval at the Tauranga Race Course Reserve on 21 February 2026. We open at 10am and close at 4pm.

We are looking forward to what is on offer for our 2026 show.

The Crafts orientated Community have requested that we add more classes in our Home Industries Competitions of 13 different sections, that now includes floral art and more vegetable products, along with the more traditionally known crafts such as handcrafts, Seniors section, art, photography, baking, and the children's section that now includes Lego creations (non kit-set items only).

Animals on show this year include:

  • alpacas as well as a separate category to show the shorn alpaca fleeces.
  • dairy goats - mixed breeds
  • Valais sheep
  • sheep shearing demonstrations throughout the day
  • donkeys
  • poultry (public vote for most impressive rooster)
  • Appaloosa horses coming down from Whangarei
  • Positively Together Petting Zoo - everyone can interact with these trained sheep
  • equestrian events - riding and harness horses
