Step up and send it! The ultimate summer showdown is back!
Tauranga Moana Manu Champs is returning to the waterfront, louder, prouder, and ready to launch the summer with a splash. This free, whānau-friendly event is your chance to qualify for the 2026 Z Manu World Champs in Tāmaki Makaurau, with the top male and female in each division earning a spot to represent Tauranga on a national stage.
It’s all about good vibes, big bombs, and celebrating the art of popping a Manu. Whether you're jumping, cheering, or just soaking up the atmosphere, come through, bring your crew, and make a day of it.

There are no pre-registrations this year, just show up and sign up on the day.
It’s free to enter and open to anyone aged 8 and over. Registration opens at 11.30am and closes 30 minutes before each heat. Please note: anyone under 16 will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver on the day.
Postponement date in case of poor conditions is Sunday 14 December 2025.
Divisions:
Push Play session - 12.30 pm
This session is all about having a go in a safe, supportive space — no experience needed. Whether you're a seasoned pro or popping your first Manu, come have fun, feel the energy and get amongst the action.
Heat 1 - 1.00pm: Manu Adults (18+)
Heat 2 - 1.45pm: Manu Youth (13-17 years)
Heat 3 - 3.00pm: Manu Kids (8-12 years)
Heat 4 - 4.00pm: Freestyle (8+)
What to bring:
Togs, towel, sunscreen, water bottle and your crew.
Free sunscreen and water will also be available on the day.

Getting there:
Free parking all weekend in on-street and council-operated spaces in the city centre. No payment, no stress, just park and go. Closest parking spots: Dive Crescent, Spring Street and Elizabeth Street buildings are just a short walk to the waterfront.
