Come and learn or expand your knowledge and skills on portrait art!

This series is broken down into weekly 2 hour sessions over 4 weeks. Participants will learn portrait construction, different facial features and expressions, how to draw faces in different angles and how to draw hair and hands - all the trickiest bits! Then, they’ll put it all together to create a personal portrait or character that you can draw from memory and apply the teachings to any portrait drawn in the future.

Participants must bring their own A4 spiral bound visual diary, a pencil case with HB, H4, B2, B4, B6 pencils, a rubber and a sharpener.

Emily is a resident artist here at the Incubator, in the Villa Studios. She is a qualified artist and a recently graduated art teacher, so has the talent and passion to teach rangatahi art, specialising in portrait art and character design. She is a positive, passionate, imaginative and bubbly individual and guarantees a great learning environment.
