Join us in celebrating the launch of Tūpuna, a powerful children’s book created by the Whakamana Māori tamariki of Tahatai Coast School.

Over the year, this group of Pāpāmoa students delved into the legacy of their tūpuna as innovators, scientists, and leaders. They also explored the wisdom embodied in te taiao (the natural world) and the lessons we can learn from our tūpuna maunga, awa, and moana. 

This book is the resulting taonga of that exploration, honouring our ancestors' strength, wisdom, and enduring influence as sources of inspiration and guidance. Tūpuna brings together the ideas, insights, and artwork of our tamariki. Each page reminds young readers of who they are, where they come from, and the greatness that is woven into their very DNA.
