What can Aotearoa learn from the rivers of Europe?
Join Anna Wentsch and Callum Armstrong to hear about their 2,850+ km cycling journey along the Danube River and the conservation lessons they’re bringing home.
About the event
Cycling from Germany to Romania, Anna and her partner have been meeting conservationists, visiting restoration projects and experiencing first-hand how communities are responding to degraded rivers and a changing climate.
They’ll share stories and lessons from the journey, including what they’ve seen in places where rivers have been dammed, straightened and disconnected from their floodplains, and the huge effort now going into restoring what was lost.
Come along to hear what they’ve learned and explore what these experiences might teach us about protecting our own rivers here in the Bay of Plenty.
Registration is essential.
