Overload 5: Bay of Plenty’s Biggest Heavy Metal and Hard Rock Tribute Festival Returns with a Bang
High-Octane Lineup, Fundraising for Women’s Refuge, and a Night of Legendary Anthems
Prepare for a seismic night of rock and metal as Overload 5 storms Totara Street, delivering the Bay of Plenty’s most explosive tribute festival. Celebrating iconic bands with electrifying performances, this year’s event promises a relentless lineup of talent, all while supporting a vital cause: fundraising donations will go to Women’s Refuge.
The lineup: A Tribute to Legends
Kicking off at 5:00pm, the festival unites six powerhouse acts paying homage to rock and metal royalty:
- Kaosis ignites the stage with their Hitech Future show, blending futuristic energy with classic numetal.
- The Feeders channel the raw intensity of Slipknot in a tribute set guaranteed to unleash chaos.
- The Firestarters resurrect the anarchic spirit of The Prodigy with high-voltage beats and punk-rave fury.
- Megadeth (tribute) doubles the thrash metal mayhem, honoring both Metallica and Megadeth in one blistering performance.
- Tonedown delivers a genre-defying mix of System of a Down and Deftones anthems.
- Brews Brothers rounds out the night with grunge and alt-rock nostalgia, covering Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, and Faith No More.
