Spend a relaxed, hands-on morning transforming a natural gourd into a unique bird feeder that will bring character to your garden and delight visiting birds for years to come.

Andy Scott has been growing gourds on his property since 2005 and provides everything you need, including gourds that are dried, cleaned, and ready to create with. Whether your style is colourful and quirky, elegant and understated, or somewhere in between, you'll have the freedom to make something truly your own.

No experience is needed. Andy can cut the openings for you, or, if you'd like to learn, he'll guide you through the process yourself.

Inspired by a lifelong love of Pop Art and years of creative exploration, Andy has spent the past five years teaching these popular workshops in Whakatāne. His friendly, encouraging approach helps participants of all ages discover the joy of turning a simple gourd into something playful, practical, and full of personality.

Come along, get creative, and leave with a handmade bird feeder that's both a work of art and a welcoming home for local birds.
