These classes include slow, floor-based weight-shifting, learning upbeat patterns of movement, and applying these elements in a fun and creative group setting.
The floorwork is to allow individual time to feel and release into the inner connectivity of the body - it feels like relaxing - while finding the structural support and letting go of the day's built up tension. The movement patterns are guided up the length of the room to music. Different qualities, tones, speeds and accents are learned while building strength, fitness, and mobilization through the whole body.
The aim of these classes is to work the fundamentals of dance with heightened proprioception (body awareness), strength and flexibility, exercise coordination and engaged creativity.
This is intended for anyone new to dance, anyone wanting to have fun while exercising, or those returning to dance after a number of years - or someone who just wants to try something different!!
