5,000 Ducklings (toys) will be released into The Strand Waterfront on an outgoing tide in a race to see which ducklings cross the finish line by the Hairy Mclary statues. Prizes are $1,000, $500 and $250 for the first, second and third. Each duckling is numbered, with raffle tickets being sold for $5 each by Tauranga Schools, Life Education Trust and Tauranga Te Papa Rotary Club.

All ticket/duckling sales funds raised by the Schools and Life Education Trust go 100% to those organisations.

Race time is 11am, Sunday April 13 at The Strand Waterfront, so come down for a fun morning. Prior to the main race a corporate duck race will commence at 10.30am, where business can buy a duck for $200 + GST.
