The Classic is Aotearoa's largest basketball event, and Tauranga and Mt Maunganui are its home.
Over Labour Weekend, teams from all over New Zealand and across the ditch from Australia play four days of basketball across 22 divisions — 12U grassroots right through to adult elite. Mercury Baypark Arena hosts the headline games and every final on Labour Day Monday, with the rest of the action spread across eight more venues around Tauranga.
Spectator entry is free. Come for the basketball and stay for the rest of it: DJs and MCs courtside, food trucks all weekend, and the Slam Dunk Contest and 3-Point Shootout on Sunday night.
