Nick Cave-inspired art exhibition comes to Willow Street for Jazz Festival
Local artist Cordula Taiwo brings her exhibition, Of a Wild God, to Tauranga this Easter (4–12 April). After a debut in Wellington this pop-up event at 117 Willow Street offers a profound exploration of faith, hope, and art.
While the 15 paintings focus on the journey of Nick Cave, the experience is a broader celebration of musical solace. Accompanying voice recordings of Cordula’s open letters to the Red Hand Files feature a diverse range of influences, from Nina Simone and Leonard Cohen to Pavarotti and the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
Cordula’s work moves beyond simple portraiture, creating a "communal confessional" space that resonates deeply with anyone who has found healing through music.
