Join experienced printmaker as he shares his specialty – Blind Embossing. He’ll walk you through the process, tools and equipment and discuss different design options to help you create your own template.
On one side, create a figure by adding layers, and on the other side create lines by cutting and adding wedges underneath. Then it’s time for action! After reviewing the designs, Eduardo will guide the participants in building their plates. Finally, make the embossing stamps using the printing press and marvel at your final product!
All materials and equipment supplied. Participants must have previous printmaking experience and are welcome to bring their own tools and/or materials, designs and ideas!
‘I am an Argentinean artist currently based in Hamilton, and I have been living in Aoteroa since 2018. I completed my studies at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (National University of fine Arts) in 2017, with a specialization in printmaking. In addition to my artistic practice, I have a strong interest in arts education. During my studies in Argentina, I worked as a teaching assistant at the university, supporting students in various printmaking techniques. Since moving to New Zealand, I have continued to share my knowledge by facilitating art workshops, encouraging creative exploration through hands-on engagement.'
