Artisan street food, sweet tunes, licensed bar, indie short films and cult classic feature flicks will keep you warm as toast as we keep it all indoors at Cult Cinema Club this Winter!

Kicking off the 2025 Winter season is the sci-fi cult classic film directed by Luc Besson, The Fifth Element. Set in the 23rd century, this film has stunning visuals, sublime costume design by Jean Paul Gaultier and stars Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm, and Chris Tucker.

The film's central plot involves the survival of planet Earth and the recovery of four mystical stones essential to the defence of planet Earth against the impending attack of a malevolent cosmic entity!

From 5pm - 7pm, Italian food truck Sicula will be serving delicious Sicilian food, accompanied by smooth brews from Mount Brewing Co and candy bar refreshments from the Cult Cinema Club pop-up licensed bar located inside the cinema. All this goodness accompanied by a live performance of ambient, electronic, low-fi blues, avant-garde guitar from Mr B's Sci-Fi Circus, you can be certain Cult Cinema Club puts a whole new spin on 'a night out at the flicks'!

Lights down in the cinema from 7pm where cinema-goers are invited to settle in and indulge in top-shelf cinematic viewing with independent short film Pleasuredora by NZ filmmakers Mark and Marion Prebble, supported by Film Bay of Plenty, followed by Luc Besson's sci-fi film classic, The Fifth Element!
