Exhibitions on show:
The People’s Gallery -Toi Ka Rere – Hononga Exhibition
Pāpāmoa College returns for its third year with Hononga, a powerful showcase of student creativity. Guided by the pou values of Toitū te Whenua, Toitū te Moana, Toitū te Tangata, and Toitū te Tiriti, students explore ‘My Matariki Connections’ through art, sculpture, photography, design, and live performance. Each piece tells a unique story—rooted in land, sea, and people—bridging past, present, and future.
The Pothouse Gallery - Te Kāhui Waiata Uku
A breathtaking intergenerational exhibition of Māori clay artistry, where each piece is a waiata (song) in uku (clay). Featuring legendary artist Baye Riddell and Incubator Resident ceramicist artist Sandy Kerr alongside emerging rangatahi, this collection weaves whakapapa, memory, and innovation—from taonga pūoro to manaia guardians. A chorus of voices, echoing across time.
Okorore - Ngā Toi Māori - The Whare Taonga Gallery - Jordyn Elise Daniels
Experience the stunning works of Jordyn Daniels, blending customary and contemporary Māori art. Her paintings draw from atua wāhine, tupuna, and te taiao (the natural world), using natural/recycled materials and patterns from kowhaiwhai, whakairo, and tāniko. A deep exploration of mātauranga Māori with cultural integrity.
The Incubator Gallery - Hei Tāpiri
A collective exhibition led by Maraea Timutimu, showcasing authentic traditional and contemporary Māori toi. A vibrant extension of Hei Matapihi Ki Te Āo Wānanga Toi, celebrating Tauranga Moana’s artistic excellence this Matariki.

Pāpāmoa College students will bring the galleries to life with live performances.
