Young at Heart Festival
The Young at Heart Festival, 1- 8 October, is a week of community-led events that celebrates the older people in our community – parents, grandparents, friends and neighbours.
The festival wraps around the official International Day of Older Persons on Thursday, 1 October 2026.
Enjoy a range of fun and engaging activities, including fitness classes, a hangi ‘n’ hoedown, and practical workshops on topics such as downsizing and genealogy. The festival is designed to bring people together, helping attendees make new friends, connect with their community, and enjoy a week of uplifting and entertaining events.
Many of the activities offer a free taster just for the festival and are regularly running throughout the year. You never know, you might discover a new activity you absolutely love.
Download the Young at Heart Festival programme (899kb pdf) or pick up a copy from any of our Tauranga City libraries.
We welcome the community to organise an event to be part of the festival.
